They're three women fighting crime and swooping down on Gotham.

You'd better believe it, these aren't your father's superheros. The WB's newest show Birds of Prey belongs to daddy's little girl and her butt-kicking pals.

TV and movies are filled with male superheroes taking control, saving the day and getting the girl.

But welcome to New Gotham, where the ladies are in charge doing everything the boys can do with attitude.

Batman is gone, Catwoman is dead and now their legacy deemed The Huntress must fight the forces of evil. She's a bad girl doing good, whether she likes it or not.

"She's spunky, funny, quick-witted. She says what you want to say but won't," says Ashley Scott, who plays The Huntress.

On the set in Burbank, California, Ashley Scott and her two co-stars make the job of crimefighting look easy. And at times, even fun. What you don't see on Wednesday nights is take after take until every scene is perfect.

Hair and makeup, forever primping while the director sets up the shot. Cameras roll, literally while actors struggle to get the dialogue right.

Dina Meyer aka Batgirl calls herself Oracle on the show. She's the master hacker behind the birds trio. Using her mind not her body to fight public enemy #1.

She was shot down by the Joker and is confined to a wheelchair, but that doesn't stop her from bringing down the bad guys.

Actress Dina Meyer jumped at the chance to play Batgirl, but admits there is some pressure taking on a superhero role.

"It's really very flattering to be a woman enough, to be actress enough to play a superhero like Batgirl," Meyer says.

There's also a new kid on the crime fighting block. She's Dinah, played by 17-year-old Rachel Skarsten. Her haunting visions lead her to the Clocktower, the birds secret lair. Now she lives a double life alongside the Huntress and Oracle.

"I think I'll eventually become a Robin to her Batman. I don't know if I'll ever be a bonafide superhero on my own," Skarsten says.

A modern day crimefighting storyline wouldn't be believable if these beautiful birds of prey didn't tell the bad guys on the street who's boss. The ladies of the cast use a language of their own...body language.

They fly, they jump, they conquer. Doing most of the stunts themselves. The ladies from the Birds of Prey say there's plenty to keep viewers coming back for more. It's about a new generation of crime fighters doing it the old fashioned way. Not exactly.

"You've got hot girls kickin' ass for the most part. Who doesn't want to see that?" Meyer says.
